Girls Weekend

Every year my best friends and I get together for a girls weekend. This year we decided to go back to Britni's family's cabin since we had such a good time there last year.

Britni and Pierson, Me and Karah, Heather, Sarah, Hannah, and Carrie

We met up at Heather's new house and took this picture before we left. Last year, Heather was not able to go to the cabin because she had just had her baby Karah. We stopped by her house on the way last year and got to visit but I am so glad she was able to be with us this year!

Heather and her husband recently moved from Allen, TX to Sherman, TX because her husband is pastoring a small church in a nearby town. They live out in the country and it is just beautiful! We decided to meet at her house so we could see their new place.

They have a a beautiful pond right in their backyard.

I love the little gazebo.

Before we went to the cabin we stopped by Britni's parent's house. They were keeping Pierson for the weekend and her mom made us an amazing lunch. She made homemade yeast rolls, barbecue chicken, this amazing corn salad, potatoes, and a homemade pumpkin pie. It was so sweet of her and we had a good time visiting with Britni's parents. Pierson loved running around and taking us on the trials Britni's dad and husband made in their backyard. It is so beautiful and pretty much my dream backyard.

Walking the trails.

I love the deck in the backyard. Britni had her wedding in her parents backyard and we danced on the deck at the reception.

Pierson also got to ride on his Poppi's big, green tractor. Pierson was in heaven! He loves John Deere tractors and it was the theme of his 3rd birthday this year.

After we left Britni's parents house we headed to the cabin. It is so relaxing and beautiful out there. I could feel myself relaxing the closer we got.

View of the pond from the front porch.

The weather was perfect that weekend so we were able to enjoy sitting out on the front porch all weekend.

We didn't just sit around all weekend...we had fun riding four wheelers too! Carrie wasn't able to ride this year because she just found out she is expecting!! I am so excited for her and Jon! I found out at her birthday party they were pregnant and after the year they have had with Jon's accident I am thrilled about this good news! The baby is due in November and that is the same month Jon fell out of a deer blind and was in the hospital. I love that they will be in the hospital for a much better reason this coming November!

Since Carrie couldn't ride we took a walk and I tried out my new camera. I am so excited that I finally was able to buy the camera I have wanted for so long. I bought a Cannon Rebel and I absolutely love it. My friend, Michelle, is a professional photographer and is going to give me some lessons this summer. The camera is so much fun to use and I really enjoyed taking pictures all weekend.

This is the original cabin that Britni's grandad built years ago. They used some of the wood and materials from the original cabin to build the new one.

Britni's dad came out one day with Pierson to take him 4-wheeler riding because Pierson was wanting to ride. Her dad took us on some fun trials on the 4-wheelers that I never would have gone on if I hadn't seen how he made it through first. I onyl got stuck once :)

I am so thankful for my friends and the fact we all make time to get together every year. I pray we will be gray haired, old ladies one day still getting together for girls weekend.

Pierson's 3rd Birthday!

One of my best friend's Britni's little boy, Pierson, was born on my birthday and we call each other "Birthday Buddy's" so I was really excited to be able to go to his party this year. I was not able to be there at his first or second.

He is all boy and LOVES John Deere tractors to that was the theme of the party. Britni did such a good job decorating and everything was too cute!

The cupcakes were so cute with the hay bails and tractors!

Britni and the birthday boy!

It was fun watching Pierson open his gifts.

I love this picture of his Grandpa helping him open his tool set gift.

He loved this drill and carried it around "fixing" things the rest o the party :)

I got him this fireman outfit complete with a fire extinguisher, hat, mask, and badge. His grandpa is a fire chief and Pierson loves fire trucks so I knew he would love it!

His uncle Brandon got him a little guitar. It was so cute! Now he is really ready for the stage :)

Not the best picture but the only one I was able to get so it has to do :)

Happy Birthday to my little birthday buddy!

Karaoke Night!

On Carrie's 30th birthday we celebrated by going to sing karaoke at this place in Carollton.

I met Britni, Wade, and Pierson for dinner before the karaoke party at Saltgrass Steakhouse. I love this picture of me and Pierson :) He was so sweet and wanted to sit by me, hold my hand, and he asked me if I was going to come home and spend the night with him. He even said I could sleep in his bed..too cute :)

Carrie and her friend Chrissy rocking the Karaoke :) It was a neat place. You can rent out private rooms for parties so we had our own room.

More Karaoke fun!

Jon and some friends singing

The little star of the show! Pierson stole the show when he was handed the mike and sang, "Folsom Prison Blues" which his uncle Brandon taught him :) How many 3 year olds know Johnny Cash! After that, he wasn't moving off the stage. He was too cute dancing and putting on a show for all of us :)

I haven't sang karaoke in a long time and it was really a fun night!

Karaoke Night!

Carrie's 30th Birthday!

One of my best friend's turned 30 on March 3rd (our birthday's are two days apart). Her husband Jon arranged for her mom, his parents, and her sisters to drive in ans surprise her the night before her birthday. Carrie and Jon went to eat dinner and we all met at their house and decorated it to surprise her when they got home. I love surprises!!

The theme was "My Little Pony" since this was the last year of her youth right? :) I thought it was a cute idea!

We hung baby pictures of her all over the place..so precious!

Carrie walking in and us yelling "Surprise!"

I thought this was too sweet. This is a picture of Carrie when she came home from the hospital in her pink t-shirt that the hospital gave her.

Look how tiny that shirt is!

Happy Birthday Carrie! I am so glad I was able to be there and celebrate her big day this year!

Catch Up!!

Hello blog world! I have not been on top of my blog posting lately so since it is Spring Break and I finally have some time I hope to catch up. So, here is what's been going on...

Girls lunch

The best thing about being in Dallas is being closer to these three girls! Three of my very best friends live in the Dallas area and we decided that at least once every three months we will get together and have a girls lunch on Saturday. The first one was a few months ago and we had a great time catching up!

Joyce Conference 2012

Mom and I love Joyce Meyer and have gone to the Joyce Meyer Conference in Houston at Lakewood for the past five years. We always make it a fun mother/daughter weekend. Since I moved this year we weren't able to go to the Houston Conference in November, but we decided we would try to go to the one in Arlington in February. So, Grammy and mom were able to come at the end of February and spend a few days with me and we went to the conference in Arlington one night. There were so many people there that we had to sit in the overflow room. It was exciting to see so many people at a Christian conference but we decided to not fight the crowds the whole weekend and we just went to that one night.

My birthday is on March 5th so while they were here we celebrated my birthday too! Mom made me my favorite cake, Boston cream cake and I got to open my birthday presents from them! Grammy got me a sewing machine and I am so excited to get started on some of those Pinterest projects I have wanted to try!

While Mom and Grammy were here we went to this great nail place by my apartment. I love this place! It is so nice inside, the people are so friendly and they have the best peddi's! For my birthday, mom gave me a deluxe peddi and I took a picture of the tray because I thought it was so pretty!

Me and Grammy

On Sunday my dad surprised me and met us at church. He drove from work and instead of going home to Beaumont met us in Frisco. We went to eat at Babe's after church. I love this place. It looks like an old barn. They have the best smoked chicken and everything is served family style.

It was a great pre-birthday weekend! It was Grammy's first time to see my place and it is always fun having them here!
