I went to Ava's "Under the Sea" birthday party in McKinney
Ava is my pastor's granddaughter and her mom is my age and lives in McKinney. Her name is Michelle also and I just love her. I don't get to see them much and was so excited to get to go to her fourth birthday! She loves Ariel right now so that is why they had an "Under the Sea" party. Isn't the cake so cute? She had it made at Target. I didn't know there was a Target that makes cakes??
All the little girls that were invited to the party wore a princess outfit...too cute!
Michelle did such a great job decorating the whole house with the "Under the Sea" theme and had so many games and activities for the kids to do. They played pin the crown on Ariel, there was a pinata, they had a scavenger hunt, she read "The Little Mermaid" to them, and they used colored sand to make a sand globe. She is so creative!
Guess who else came to the party? Well, Ariel of course :) While Michelle was reading the story to the girls she knocked on the door and Ava went to answer it followed by all the girls. They were so cute and shy at first with Ariel. Then they started asking her all kinds of questions like, "Do you know Sebastian? Why do you use a fork to brush your hair?" It was the cutest thing! Ariel was actually the praise and worship leader at their church and she also sang Ava's favorite song from the movie.
This is Levi...Ava's little brother. Isn't he the cutest!
And this is London...her other younger brother. He is adorable!
Last week, I signed my contract at the Administration building and attended New Teacher Orientation.
I also found an apartment..this is the bedroom. It's a little one bedroom but it will be perfect for now. It is in a really neat apartment complex that is like it's own little community. There are restaurants and shops you can walk to and even a dry cleaners.
Love the walk-in closet
Living Room...I didn't get to see my actual apartment so they showed me one with the same floor plan. My apartment will only have carpet in the bedroom and concrete floors in the kitchen and living room which I think will look really great and give it a "lofty" feel.
I love the kitchen!
I also got to go see my classroom for the first time. My room is so big and nice...no more portables :)
Just look at all that storage!
The teacher who was in the room before hasn't moved out yet and I should be able to work in my room soon. I am excited to start decorating it and getting it ready for the first day of school.
Mom is coming in tomorrow and we are going to go furniture shopping and get the things I need for my classroom. The next few weeks are going to be crazy but I am not complaining! I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) is the scripture that I am standing on right now!

Love the pictures of your apartment! The bathroom looks amazing! Can't wait to see it after you put your touch on it :) So happy for you about your big, nice school room!
Love the pictures! I like the idea of the concrete floors and the floors in the bathroom look neat too. You're not going to know what to do with yourself in that big classroom!
