Moving Part 1

Last Monday (August 1) mom and I headed off to my new apartment in Dallas to start moving in. This is a picture of my car packed down.

There literally was no space left in my car!

Here is a view from the inside of the car. We didn't have any room to bag my towels so we had to stuff them in any space we could find. We also had to get in the front and try to make some sort of view out the back window and we managed to do it.

This is where mom and I had to put out one bag that we packed for ourselves (yes, I said one bag-amazing in itself if you know how mom and I usually pack!). It was actually pretty comfortable riding in the passenger seat with the bag on the floor.

Our first glimpse of the Dallas skyline! My favorite picture so far :)

One thing I love about my new apartment complex is that it is like it's own little community. There are all of  these great retail places you can walk to and mom and I decided to try out the Lone Star Coffee Bar on the way to my classroom one morning.

I fell in love the moment I walked in!

I can just picture myself sitting by the fireplace in the Fall with a coffee doing lesson plans or something!

I love that they had a Bible on the fireplace.

I know I was very touristy taking all these pictures of the coffee house but I couldn't help myself :) Notice they serve White Mocha Latte's which are my favorite!

My first coffee at the Lone Star Coffee Bar

After getting a coffee, mom and I headed off to work in my classroom for the first time.

I couldn't have made it without all of mom's help! She had helped me set up every classroom I have been in and I am so grateful!! We work so good together and got so much done in only two days. I am waiting to post pictures of my classroom until it is completely finished.

The first thing we had to do was move out all of the previous teacher's stuff into the hall. My principal is the one that told us to do it.

After that, we started wiping down everything, setting it up, and decorating it. It is almost completely decorated by the Grace of God! We were like mad women slapping up bulletin board after bulletin board but it got done and I can't wait to share it with you soon!

On top of all the classroom work we did so much at my apartment. My furniture was delivered, cable and Internet set up, my kitchen is all set up, curtains are hung, and now all I need is the rest of my stuff from Beaumont. My dad and brother are planning on moving it up here after we leave the beach. After all this work we are looking so forward to the beach trip coming up! I just thought I was sore from dancing all week at Art Life :)
