Canton Weekend

This past weekend was a busy but fun weekend. Britni and I made plans to go to Canton with her mom on Saturday. Friday night I drove to Britni's after work to babysit Pierson so Britni and her husband could go out to eat for his birthday. This was my first time to babysit Pierson and I was so excited to be able to spend time with him. Britni told him all week that his birthday buddy (he was born on my birthday) was coming to watch him and she said he was asking her that day when I was coming :) I haven't seen him since last March but he warmed up to me really quick.

After dinner we played outside until dark.

He rode his 4-wheeler and kept me on my toes running around after him in the yard! He is definitely all boy and was cutting doughnuts in the driveway on his 4-wheeler! I was amazed at how good he rode it and at how fearless he was and so very thankful there were no falls, scrapes, or crashes!

We also played in the backyard

After all that running around and playing he wanted to watch "Woody" (Toy Story 2)...which by the way is such a cute movie! Then it was time for bed. Britni wasn't sure if he would let me put him to sleep or not but he let me read to him and put him in his bed. He stayed in his bed and fell asleep right away.

Saturday morning we woke up at 5 in the morning and headed to Canton to beat the crowds. We left at 5:30 and had a 2 hour drive to get there. Canton opens at 8 and we were some of the first people in the gate. Some friends that go to Canton all the time told us to get there when they open because around ten the crowds grow so much you can hardly walk through the pavilions. They were right and I am glad we got there early and got through most of the pavilions before the crowds came. I found some decorations for my apartment and Britni found some furniture for her house. It really just enjoyed walking around and looking at everything. There is no way you can see everything in one day but we made it through all the main pavilions.

We originally planned to go to Canton in November but decided to go in October in case it was too cold in November. I am glad we did because it was the perfect day for Canton. The weather was so nice..cool in the morning and then it warmed up to the mid 80's in the afternoon.

We shopped from 8 until they closed at 5 but did take a quick break for some corn dogs :)

Britni's mom met us there and it was so good to spend the day with her and Britni!

On Sunday Britni and I drove to our friend Jan's house to visit her and give her a baby gift. She is having a baby shower this coming weekend and me and Britni are both going out of town and can't go so it worked out that we could see her on Sunday.

By Sunday me and Pierson were tied at the hip :) Wade said that on Saturday he woke up and asked where his birthday buddy was...makes me smile! On Sunday morning while I was getting ready for church he wanted to be with me the whole time...it was so sweet! He climbed in my lap at Jan's house and Britni got this picture of us which is now one of my favorites!

Me and Jan (we were roommates for a while in college)

It was a great weekend! I am loving that I am close enough to babysit Pierson and see Britni more often. I am also loving that Canton is only an hour and a half away from my house!!! I plan on taking another trip soon!
