Classroom 2012

OK, so it's October and I am just now posting this but I have been so busy since school started I haven't had a chance to sit down and blog until today. Thank God for three day weekends! I am off tomorrow for Fair Day and I am finally getting to catch up on some much needed blog reading!!

Here is a look at my classroom this year. It was so much easier getting ready for school to start since I am in the same classroom as I was in last year. It is basically the same as last year with the animal print theme but I  did change the desks around and added a few things here and there.

My desk area

Word Wall with white lights

My district likes us to make and hang anchor charts up throughout each unit so this is the space I made to hang the charts. I hang the math charts on the left side and the science on the right side.

My class library with the pillows my mom and I made. I love the rocking chair I got from another teacher who didn't want it anymore!

Calendar Math space

I want to add a Lamar flag and my diploma from Lamar to this wall eventually.

This was on the students desks the first day

The bulletin board outside my classroom with all the kids names.

I love both of my classes this year and the teachers on my team. I am the only one left from last year on the third grade team so I have three new teammates and they are all great and we work really well together. I couldn't ask for a better team or group of students. I love teaching and even though it is a lot of work and can be very stressful at times I can't imagine doing anything else. I went to see the movie, "Won't Back Down" last weekend and it is a great movie about some parents and teachers who were tired of their failing school and banned together to fight the school board and teachers union to make it successful again. It was a great movie and really encouraging to me as a teacher. Every teacher should see this movie!! It will inspire you to be better and make you realize even more the impact you can make on a child's life.
